The simple truth of infill is that the fewer blades of grass used per square inch, the more infill is required to keep it standing tall.

Even without infill, you can see that our synthetic grass product beat the competition in overall blade count, making an instantly thicker blanket of grass for your Northern Nevada home.

Similar to the different qualities of bed sheets, where a higher thread count means a silkier, softer texture, a higher “blade count” in our artificial lawns means a softer, thicker, more lush look and feel. 

Standard Infill:

• Our competitors use a mixture of playground sand and cryogenic black rubber from recycled tires as infill material. Xgrass® uses no infill.
• Because their grass product is so much less dense than ours, they need a lot of fill to make the individual blades stand up straight. 
• The sand gets very hard over time – and because it stays wet longer, bacteria has the opportunity to grow. 
• The black rubber has potential “off gassing” issues when it gets hot, making an unpleasant odor and the dust given off by the rubber fill can potentially be harmful to the respiratory system. 
• The black rubber infill also raises the temperature of the grass on warm days to uncomfortable levels. 
• Because so much infill is required for the competitor’s grass, it can blow off easily, get into your shoes, your pets paws, and end up all over your house. 
• The black rubber infill also needs to be periodically refilled – especially if any slope exists in the lawn.

Our Infill (used only in our artificial putting greens): 

• We use a low heat gain antimicrobial infill product– acrylic coated silica called SofFill™
• Our infill is one of the most environmentally friendly infill products on the market – it is both lead and heavy metal free
• Our infill has no static cling – unlike rubber which can stick to clothing
• It will not float in water – no hazardous runoff issues
• Infill causes no abrasion to skin
